Dealdex App

You know how many cards you own. Do you know what they are worth today? Most collection apps stop at the inventory: a list, a few ticked boxes. DealDex treats your collection like a portfolio — a value for today, a curve, gains and losses. And soon, with the DexKey, your physical binders will plug straight into it.

In short: you scan a card, it is recognised, filed and priced. The app runs in your browser, on phone as well as computer, with nothing to install, and the essentials are free. The DexKey, still to come, is the chip built into your DealDex binder: hold your phone close and the collection opens.

A portfolio, not a list

The home screen does not show you a number of cards: it shows you an amount. What your collection is worth today, what it was worth last month, and which cards are climbing fastest.

  • Today's value, across all TCGs or game by game.
  • Unrealised and realised gains: your sales are counted, not just the theoretical market price.
  • Your biggest risers, ranked, price paid against current price.
The five TCGs recognised today: Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana. Riftbound, Star Wars Unlimited, Digimon and Dragon Ball are being added.

Scanning: point at the card, it gets filed

No manual entry, no number to copy out. The camera recognises the card, its set and its language, and files it with today's price.

  • Recognition by visual fingerprint, not by text: a Japanese or damaged card is still identified.
  • You pick the condition, finish and language as you add it — three settings that change the value entirely.
  • A catalogue of more than 160,000 cards, five TCGs, six languages.

Condition estimates before grading

Sending a card off for grading is expensive and takes weeks. You may as well know beforehand whether it is worth it. DealDex analyses your card across twelve axes and returns a score out of ten, along with a confidence level based on the quality of your photo.

  • Centring: the frame margins are measured against the edges, front and back. It is the one axis that can genuinely be measured, and the most decisive.
  • Corners, edges, surface: whitening, dings, scratches. These are estimates, and the app says so plainly rather than passing an approximation off as a verdict.
An estimate is not an official grade. It is there to help you sort: which cards are worth sending in, which ones are not worth the fees.

Price alerts

You add a card to your watchlist with your target price. The app monitors listings and tells you when one drops below it. You open it, you decide.

  • Notification the moment the price drops, not the next day.
  • Search tuned to your country: marketplace, language and currency.
  • Alerts on the way up too, on what you already own, so you know when to sell.

Collections and public page

Organise things the way you actually organise them: by set, by character, or entirely by hand. Each collection shows its value, its progress and its completion rate.

  • Collections by set, with a counter for the cards you are missing.
  • Collections by character or manual, with a target to reach.
  • Share by link, with the amounts hidden if you would rather not show them.

Your profile counts your cards, your gradings and your spending, unlocks badges as your collection grows, and feeds a public page that shows only what you choose.

The DexKey: linking your binder to the app (coming soon)

It is the bridge between the shelf and the screen. Once you have three, five, twelve binders lined up, the problem is no longer knowing what you own — it is finding where, and knowing what it is worth.

What it is

A contactless chip built straight into your DealDex binder during manufacturing. Nothing to slip in, nothing to add: it is part of the binder. Like a transit card, it works without a battery and without charging, and simply carries a unique, permanent identifier that tells the app "that binder there is this one".

The DexKey is not available yet: binders shipping today do not have it. At launch it will be built into every custom binder, included at no extra cost, with 3 months of premium app access included.

How it works

  1. You hold your phone close to the binder. The chip is recognised, the app opens.
  2. The first time, you choose which collection this binder matches, or you create a new one.
  3. Every time after that, one gesture is enough: the right collection appears, with today's value and its completion rate.
The key point: the link between the binder and the collection lives in your account, not in the chip. The chip is never rewritten. That is what makes the system reversible, and compatible with phones that cannot write to this kind of chip.

What it is for, day to day

  • Finding a card without opening four binders.
  • Knowing the value of that specific binder, not just of your whole collection.
  • Showing your collection to someone: the binder in one hand, the screen in the other.
  • Filing a new card and adding it to the right place in the app, in the same movement.

Unlink, relink, pass it on

A collection changes. A binder switches theme, gets sold, gets handed down. The DexKey follows: you can rename the binder, unlink it and link it to another collection as many times as you like, or release it for its next owner. And if you lose the binder, nothing is erased: your collection stays fully accessible. The DexKey is a shortcut, never a required step.

It is built into every custom DealDex binder, at no extra cost — one binder, one chip.

The inventory report for your insurer

Theft, water damage, fire: an insurer will not take a screenshot seriously. The app produces a timestamped document of what you own — photos, certification numbers, price sources and the date they were recorded.

  • It is an inventory record, for you to pass on to your insurer yourself.
  • You choose the scope: all your collections, only the valuable cards, or a manual selection.
  • Annual updates at a reduced rate — insurers prefer a recent inventory.

What it costs, and what it does not do

Scanning, tracking prices, organising your collections and estimating centring cost nothing. Premium lifts the limits for people who collect seriously.

And above all, three things DealDex does not do:

  • No advertising: no banners, no video to watch to unlock a feature.
  • No third-party trackers: what we measure is our own scan success rate.
  • No selling your data: your collection goes to nobody, and you delete it whenever you want.

Frequently asked questions

Is the DealDex app free? ▼
Yes for the essentials: scanning your cards, tracking their price, organising your collections and estimating centring cost nothing. A premium plan lifts the limits for large collections.
Do I need to install anything? ▼
No, the app opens in your browser, on phone as well as computer. iPhone and Android versions are in the works.
Which games are recognised? ▼
Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana, with a catalogue of more than 160,000 cards in six languages. Riftbound, Star Wars Unlimited, Digimon and Dragon Ball are being added.
Does the scanner recognise Japanese cards? ▼
Yes. Recognition works on the card's visual fingerprint rather than its text: a Japanese card, or a damaged one, is still identified.
Does the grading estimate replace a PSA or CGC grade? ▼
No. It is an estimate meant to help you decide which cards are worth the cost of sending in. Centring is measured, the rest is estimated, and the app shows a confidence level based on the quality of your photo.
Are the values shown reliable? ▼
They are indicative values, built from market prices, much like a price guide. They are neither an appraisal nor a guarantee of price.
What is the DexKey? ▼
A contactless chip built straight into your DealDex binder. Hold your phone close and the linked collection opens in the app, with today's value. It is included with the binder at no extra cost, and comes with 3 months of premium access. It is not available yet: binders shipping today do not have it.
Do I need a dedicated app to read the DexKey? ▼
No. The chip opens a link your phone recognises directly, which takes you to the DealDex app in your browser. All you need is a recent smartphone with contactless, and a DealDex account to remember the link.
Can I change the collection linked to a DexKey? ▼
Yes, as many times as you like. The link is saved in your account, not on the chip: you can rename the binder, unlink it and link it to another collection at any time. Each binder has its own chip, so its own collection.
What happens if I lose the binder? ▼
Nothing happens to your collection: it stays fully accessible in the app. The chip holds no collection data, it is purely a physical shortcut.
Can I share my collection? ▼
Yes, every collection can be shared by link, and you can hide the amounts if you would rather not display them. Your public profile only shows what you choose.
